Sensor Spectra, a black cylindrical vibration and temperature sensor with a QR-coded label.
Predictive maintenance on motors

Sensor Spectra

The problem
Monitoring vibration and temperature across a plant means hundreds of sensors on motors and rotating assets — and hundreds of batteries to replace, often in places that are hard or unsafe to reach.
The solution
KIWI harvests the reactive electromagnetic field and the vibration of the motor itself, and keeps the sensor’s battery charged.
The result
About 5 mW delivered continuously: no cable to run and no battery to replace.

Node Connect, a black industrial data-acquisition module with cable glands.
Industrial data acquisition

Node Connect

The problem
Bringing data out of distributed industrial systems usually means running power and signal cables to every point.
The solution
KIWI combines the electromagnetic energy of the industrial environment with the available light to power the node.
The result
About 30 mW delivered continuously: data collected across distributed systems, fully wireless.

Self-sustaining public lighting

Smart lighting

The problem
Lighting on poles, highways and tunnels needs energy and maintenance in places where both are expensive.
The solution
Solar-powered intelligent luminaires in which KIWI manages the energy between panel and batteries, with impedance matching and MPPT.
The result
More of the panel’s energy stored in the batteries: self-sustaining lighting infrastructure.

Gateway Bolt, a black enclosure with two whip antennas.
Long-range connectivity off the grid

Gateway Bolt

The problem
A gateway has to sit where the sensors are — and that is rarely next to a power outlet.
The solution
A LoRa to 4G and Wi-Fi gateway in which KIWI, with impedance matching and MPPT, gets the most out of a small solar panel.
The result
A gateway that runs on a small solar panel and sends data to the cloud over Wi-Fi and 4G, with no power line.

Sensor Termocube, a small black cube with a green status LED.
Temperature monitoring without cables

Sensor Termocube

The problem
Temperature has to be measured at many points, and each point would need a cable or a battery.
The solution
KIWI harvests the reactive electromagnetic field and the vibration of nearby motors, and keeps the sensor’s battery charged.
The result
About 2 mW delivered continuously: temperature sensing with no cables and no battery to replace.
