Sensor Termocube
Cable-free temperature sensor for buildings and industrial environments.
- The problem
- Temperature has to be measured at many points, and each point would need a cable or a battery.
- The solution
- KIWI harvests the reactive electromagnetic field and the vibration of nearby motors, and keeps the sensor’s battery charged.
- The result
- About 2 mW delivered continuously: temperature sensing with no cables and no battery to replace.
What KIWI does here
- Energy sources
- Reactive electromagnetic field + vibration
- Power delivered
- ≈ 2 mW, continuous
- Powers
- The sensor’s battery
Installed on the equipment, KIWI captures the reactive electromagnetic energy of the motors and the vibration of the machine.
In this application that comes to about 2 mW, delivered continuously to keep the Termocube’s battery charged.
