Industrial monitoring

Sensor Spectra
Wireless vibration and temperature sensor for predictive maintenance of motors and rotating equipment. No battery to replace.
- The problem
- Monitoring vibration and temperature across a plant means hundreds of sensors on motors and rotating assets — and hundreds of batteries to replace, often in places that are hard or unsafe to reach.
- The solution
- KIWI harvests the reactive electromagnetic field and the vibration of the motor itself, and keeps the sensor’s battery charged.
- The result
- About 5 mW delivered continuously: no cable to run and no battery to replace.
What KIWI does here
- Energy sources
- Reactive electromagnetic field + vibration
- Power delivered
- ≈ 5 mW, continuous
- Communication
- LoRa to the gateway
On every motor, KIWI captures the reactive electromagnetic energy around the machine and the energy of its vibration.
In this application the two sources add up to about 5 mW, delivered continuously to keep the sensor’s battery charged — so the battery is no longer a reason to send someone to the machine.
The Spectra sends its readings over LoRa to the gateway.
